With over 20 years of passion for web design and 12 years of professional experience, I specialise in creating websites that not only look great but also convert effectively and seamlessly blending customer goals with business needs.

I've led talented teams of UI/UX designers, animation experts and content creators to help bring countless stories to life online. My experience spans multiple industries, most recently in the financial technology sector where I've spent the last 5 years developing my skills. Alongside design, user experience and user research my skills include building multi-skilled teams, implementing new software like Convert Experiences for testing and optimising websites.

Away from work my wife Emma and my son Harry keep me inspired. Showing my age, gardening is becoming one of my favourite hobbies while our cat Reggie stalks me from the fence.

Lead UX Designer, Comparitec Limited

April 2019 - Present

As Lead UX Designer at Comparitec, I oversee the design and user experience for 11+ websites, apps, and services. I implemented tools like Convert Experiences, Microsoft Clarity, and Amplitude Analytics, enhancing our testing, website recordings and customer analytics, which have influenced key product decisions and the product roadmap. I led the implementation including formal sign-off and data impact assessments, in collaboration with our DPO.


Additionally, I built and managed a team of designers and a content writer, nurturing team growth and a positive environment. Working with the Marketing Director and Head of Development, we prioritise features and products to effectively meet customer needs.

Senior Digital Designer, WM Reply

May 2016 - April 2019

WM Reply worked with clients as a Microsoft Gold Rated Partner agency. Initially, I was hired to design intranets and internal communications materials for clients such as Burberry, Virgin Atlantic, and British Gas.
My role then transitioned into working with the Web team, where I began designing and developing customer-facing websites and apps for clients including easyJet and JD. These projects involved leading and facilitating workshops with stakeholders using the sprint methodology. I then condensed the research and findings into digestible UX research packs to drive designs and improvements for our clients.

November 2015 - May 2016

Working under the Managing Director to establish the design function of the low-cost holiday brand, Holiday Gems. During my time at Holiday Gems, I also designed and launched the tailor-made holiday website, Destination2. This involved optimising user journeys and reducing dropout points based on data provided by analysts

The role consisted of designing print ready display adverts for the various titles NWN Media produced, liaising with Sales Representatives whilst building relationships and following supplied briefs.
